“what I got was plenty, and the rest is just bitter onions” - Dorian Corey

Hope, cause I’ve learned to cope

August 23rd, 2007 by RJJNYC

First heard this being played by Tony Humphries on his Kiss FM mix show back when house and disco were still staples of NYC radio. Think I found the 12″ in Downtown Records on West 25th St, always loved that store. Later discovered that the record is the work of Phil Asher from the UK, who cheekily released it on an NYC label for promotional purposes. The backdrop for the two tracks are Tom Moulton’s mix of Patti Jo - Make Me Believe in You (available on this Disco Gold compilation CD) and Don Ray - Standing in the Rain. I have no idea where the vocal snippet comes from.
